Up for auction is the book, Devaney, A Dynasty Remembered, signed by Nebraska Huskers football legends Bob Devaney, Johnny Rodgers, and Jerry Tagge.
Devaney coached the Huskers from 1962-1972 compiling a record of 136-30-7. Devaney won 2 National Championships in 1970 & 1971. Devaney was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1981. Devaney lived from 4/13/15 to 5/9/97.
Johnny Rodgers won the 1972 Heisman Trophy and is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. Jerry Tagge was the quarterback of the 1970 and 1971 National Championship teams.
What makes this book very rare and unique is that it was signed to Dean and Darlene Peterson. Dean Peterson (D. 1926-2016) was a retired U. S. Navy Captain. Peterson was also the Mayor of Lincoln Nebraska from 1963-1967 and a huge supporter of Nebraska Husker football. This book was an estate find and a nice piece of Nebraska history.
The book is in good condition. Note: there is very minor wear to the dust jacket. It can hardly be seen but felt it should be noted. The book displays well.
Devaney, Rodgers, and Tagge all signed the book boldly.
